AllmountMac beta

MinIO or a custom endpoint

Use this for MinIO, Ceph, Garage, SeaweedFS, a NAS with an S3 service, or any other server that speaks the S3 API. Allmount uses path-style addressing for custom endpoints, so you do not need a DNS entry per bucket.

  • Access key and secret
  • Bucket name
  • Endpoint URL required
  • Region us-east-1

Steps

  1. Find the endpoint URL of your server, including scheme and port, for example https://minio.example.com:9000 or http://192.168.1.20:9000. Use https where you can. Plain http is accepted only for addresses on your own network, such as 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or a .local name.
  2. In the MinIO console, open Access Keys and choose Create Access Key. From the command line, mc admin accesskey create does the same. Copy the key and secret.
  3. Create a bucket, or note the name of an existing one.
  4. Unless you set a region on the server, use us-east-1.

Next: open Allmount and pick Custom S3 endpoint. If something does not work, see troubleshooting.
