Troubleshooting

Find what you see, then try the fix. Most problems come from a stray space, a read-only key or the wrong region.

Signature or credential errors right after pasting

Copying from a web page often picks up a space or a line break at the start or end of a key.

Fix: Clear the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key fields and paste each one again. If it still fails, paste into a plain text note first to check for stray spaces.

Browsing works but uploads fail

The key can read but not write. Your token is read-only.

Fix: Create a new key with read and write permission. On Cloudflare R2 that is Object Read & Write. On Backblaze B2 it is Read and Write. On Amazon S3, check that the policy includes s3:PutObject and s3:DeleteObject.

Access denied

The key is valid but is not allowed to use this bucket.

Fix: Check that the key is limited to the right bucket and that the bucket name matches exactly. On Scaleway, also check that the key's preferred project is the one that holds the bucket.

Bucket not found

Bucket names are case-sensitive, and a bucket only exists in its own region.

Fix: Copy the bucket name from the provider's console instead of typing it. Then check the region. A bucket in eu-west-1 will not be found if you entered us-east-1.

Wrong region or endpoint

The region or endpoint does not match where the bucket lives, or your device cannot reach the server.

Fix: For Backblaze B2, Hetzner, Scaleway and DigitalOcean Spaces, copy the region from the endpoint the provider shows you. For Cloudflare R2 the region is always auto. For MinIO or a custom endpoint, include the port and make sure your device can reach the server.

Changes are not showing yet

Allmount checks for changes made elsewhere, such as on another device or in the provider's web console, about every 90 seconds while the app is running.

Fix: Wait a minute and a half, or open the folder again. If it still looks out of date, close the folder and reopen it.

An http:// endpoint is rejected

Plain http is not encrypted, so Allmount only accepts it for addresses on your own network.

Fix: Use https if your server supports it. Plain http works only for 10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x to 172.31.x.x, 192.168.x.x, 127.x.x.x, localhost and names ending in .local. See MinIO or a custom endpoint.
